Health Guarantee – Fresh Mounts Dachshund Puppies Home

At Fresh Mounts Dachshund Puppies Home, the well-being, safety, and long-term health of every Dachshund puppy we place in a new home are our highest priorities. All Dachshund puppies purchased through FreshMountsDachshundPuppiesHome.com come with a minimum 30-day health guarantee provided directly by the breeder. If you ever have questions about your rights or responsibilities as a puppy owner, please review the pet purchase laws in your state.

Initial Veterinary Examination & Buyer Options

All our puppies receive a veterinary health check within ten (10) days of purchase.
If your licensed veterinarian discovers a serious illness or chronic medical issue, you may select one of the following options within 5–10 days of receiving your puppy:

  • Return the puppy for a full refund,

  • Return the puppy and exchange it for another of equal value, or

  • Return the puppy and receive reimbursement for veterinary expenses not exceeding the puppy’s purchase price.

These options apply only when your veterinarian’s findings differ from the breeder’s health evaluation. If the breeder has already issued a signed and stamped health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, these remedies may not apply.

Hereditary & Congenital Conditions

If a licensed veterinarian confirms that your Dachshund has a congenital or hereditary condition that negatively affects its health—or if the puppy passes away due to such a condition—you may still choose the refund or replacement options listed above.

Within 24–72 hours after your purchase, you will receive the details of the veterinarian who examined your puppy, including their name, address, and phone number.
If the breeder is not notified within 72 business hours of a discovered health issue, the health guarantee becomes void.

Compliance With U.S. State Pet Laws

Pet purchase laws vary by state. All breeders associated with Fresh Mounts Dachshund Puppies Home follow their state’s legal requirements and provide at least a one-month health assurance period. If your state mandates a longer guarantee period, that requirement will be honored.

It is illegal for any breeder to falsify veterinary records or misrepresent a puppy’s health condition. We strictly comply with all ethical and legal standards.

Extended Genetic Health Guarantee

Some breeders may offer an extended hereditary health guarantee covering confirmed genetic conditions. These guarantees only apply to conditions verified through licensed veterinarians and laboratory testing.
The extended guarantee:

  • Does not cover routine vet care

  • Does not cover injuries, accidents, or health issues caused by neglect

  • Requires the buyer to provide official veterinary documentation before reimbursement or replacement is considered

All puppies receive the proper vaccinations and deworming treatments before leaving our care. New owners must schedule an appointment with a licensed veterinarian within two (2) days of taking their puppy home to maintain the validity of the health guarantee.

Discovery of Life-Threatening Conditions

If your veterinarian detects a major or life-threatening genetic defect during the first examination, a replacement Dachshund puppy will be offered (based on availability) if the breeder is notified within 24 hours.
To qualify, the puppy must be:

  • Returned to the breeder,

  • Accompanied by its registration papers, and

  • Supported by a signed veterinary report confirming the diagnosis.

Veterinary examination fees remain the buyer’s responsibility.

The following common puppy issues are not covered under this guarantee:

  • Minor heart murmurs

  • Uneven bites

  • Undescended testicles

  • Parasites such as fleas, mites, coccidia, giardia, or ringworm

  • Hernias

  • Kennel cough (a common stress-related condition)

Fresh Mounts Dachshund Puppies Home is not responsible for Parvo, Distemper, or Coronavirus diagnosed more than 48 hours after the puppy leaves our care, as these conditions can develop rapidly in new environments.

12-Month Genetic Health Guarantee

In addition to the initial health protection period, every Dachshund puppy from Fresh Mounts Dachshund Puppies Home comes with a 12-month genetic health guarantee valid from the puppy’s date of birth.

This guarantee covers:

  • Life-threatening congenital defects

  • Verified hereditary disorders

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Parvo

  • Distemper

  • Heartworms

  • Nutritional deficiencies or viral infections

If a qualifying genetic defect is confirmed, the puppy will be replaced with another Dachshund of equal value, depending on availability. Refunds are not provided.

A written veterinary report is required. In case of death, a necropsy report must be submitted before any action can be taken. Medical, diagnostic, cremation, or transport expenses are not covered.

Registration & Spay/Neuter Requirements

All companion Dachshund puppies are sold with Limited Registration, requiring the puppy to be spayed or neutered after 27 weeks of age.
Puppies sold for show or breeding purposes receive Full Registration; however, no breeder can guarantee future show titles, fertility, or breeding success.

Vaccination Records & Ongoing Care

Each puppy leaves our home with updated vaccinations, deworming, and a full set of health records.
Buyers must continue the puppy’s vaccination schedule and annual boosters with a licensed veterinarian to protect the puppy’s long-term health.

Legal Agreement

In the event of a legal dispute between the breeder and the original buyer, the buyer agrees to cover all legal and court-related expenses incurred by both parties. Any legal action must be filed within the breeder’s state and jurisdiction.
